Jesus’s last instructions🌏🤝
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
On Wednesday night, we discussed the importance of sharing the Gospel. Before ascending back to Heaven, Jesus gave us one final command, "Go and make disciples of all nations." sadly, many who profess to be Christians are not living in obedience to His last command.
60% of Christians do not know what evangelism is.
90% of Christians are not involved in evangelism at all.
Simply put, evangelism is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. We have the joy of giving good news to people who need to hear it. Jesus set the example for us as He ministered throughout His life on earth.
Matthew 9:35-38 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Being involved in evangelism is:
- Obedience to Christ’s command
- Answer to Christ’s prayer
- One of the greatest blessings we enjoy as believers
Having experienced the life transforming power of Jesus Christ, we are excited to share His good news with others.
Acts 4:20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
We also have the blessed promise of His presence going with us as we share the Gospel.
Matthew 28:20 ... I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
On Wednesday night, I announced that we are going to have an evangelistic outreach effort called the HOPE INITIATIVE - a 30 day mission to help us obey the last command of Jesus Christ.
