The Power of Praise
Psalms 34:1-3 (A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.) I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
King David found himself a fugitive from his homeland. He was Israel's Most Wanted. The king wanted to kill him. What had he done? David was guilty of being chosen by God to be the next king of Israel. Now he was hunted like a dog.
He fled to the Philistines - the enemies of Israel - against whom David had fought many battles. I guess he hoped the whole "my enemy's enemy is my friend" idea would have brought him safe harbor, but he was driven away. He had nowhere to go. Everything was going wrong. Where was God in all this?!? Hadn't He promised David that he would be made king?
By all human estimations, David would be justified in throwing in the towel and choosing another path. But that is not what David did. David chose praise. David chose to pour his heart out to God and trust Him in spite of how things looked in the moment. Not only did he choose to pray and praise the Lord, but he invited others to join in with him. Through it all, David was delivered, God was glorified, David eventually became king, and God's people were blessed for choosing to honor the Lord in the middle of their trials and troubles.

Resurrection Sunday is one of the most exciting days of the year as we celebrate the day when Jesus Christ defeated death and the grave, rising triumphantly and assuring us of the victory that we have in Him. Join us for a wonderful time of celebration and worship.
We will have an egg hunt for the children and breakfast at 9:45 am. Invite your friends and family!
