A Solid Foundation🪨🏠
Matthew 7:24-29 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
What do you base your belief on? Some people hold beliefs that, on the surface, sound really good, but when you compare them with Scripture, they come up short. This is why God challenges us to study His Word.
Well meaning believers have taught many things that are inaccurate— because rather than getting their ideas from God’s Word— they teach their own preferences or simply teach traditions they have been taught as truth.
There have been times when I have been questioned about a belief that I held only to find that that belief that I was so sure was Biblical did not line up with actual Scripture. How thankful I am for that experience which drove me to search the Scriptures to see if a thing was so and to make the needed corrections.
Jesus knew exactly what He was talking about when He encouraged us to live in obedience to His Word. If we are to build our lives to be in accordance with God’s design and plan for us, we must be students of the Word to be sure we are not holding our traditions as doctrine. We cannot elevate preference to the level of Biblical truth. We must build our lives on the pure and perfect Word of God.
Doing so may run contrary to the culture of society or even our own family, but following the true teaching of the Bible from the heart will produce in us the character of Christ.

Annual Business Meeting
All members are encouraged to attend our annual business meeting. We will discuss the blessings we have seen over the last year and the budget for ministry throughout 2023. This meeting will follow a brief break after the morning service.

Ladies Retreat
We’re thrilled to invite you to our 4th annual women’s retreat! This is always a special time to head out of town to reflect, worship God, study His Word, build friendships, and just get refreshed. Come with us!
